A Proud Partnership

Most of you probably know a cheesy football team joke. For example, what football team do detectives follow? But we would like to pose this puzzler, which football teams puts the SPORT in SupPORT?

The answer is Chelsea Football Club, and their most recent act of support took the shape of a celebrity sports day at Wentworth Golf course on July 11th. The Chelsea squad was at full strength and were joined by many top international athletes like England Rugby stars Ugo Monye, Will Carling and Nick Easter, British Tennis players Anne Keothavong and Laura Robson and Olympic legend Sir Steve Redgrave.

The dedication of Chelsea's array of first team stars brought smiles to everyone's faces as they played football and Right to Play games for hours on end that even the inevtiable summertime rain could not wipe away. The feedback we have recieved from the parents and children that took part has been hugely positive, with everyone thrilled to meet their idols and in many cases test their skills against them.  Below are some pictures from the day.

Right to Play is immensley proud of their partnership with Chelsea F.C. The commitment and support of the whole club is truly a sign of their copntinued enthusiasm to helping some of the world's most impoverished children through the power of sport, and with their help, we were able to raise £180,000 on the day. Combined with the £150,000 already raised by Chelsea F.C. this year will give 17,000 children across Africa, Asia and the Middle East the chance to play and grow in peace.

Oh and of course detectives follow Leeds.
