Ambassador Profile - Madeleine Holland
Name: Madeleine HollandCourse: MA, Social and Political Thought
University: Warwick.
What's so great about your Uni?
I love the campus: it has such a community feeling and you always see someone you know. Nothing is too far away and you have pretty much everything you need all in one place. Also, the sports facilities are great and not expensive to join - there are so many sports clubs that there is bound to be something you are interested in doing!
What was it that drew you to the Right To Play Ambassadorship? What do you enjoy about it?
I love sport and I am really interested in working for a charity or NGO so the Right To Play Ambassadorship is a perfect combination for me.
I feel that sport can make a huge difference to someone's life and that everyone should have the chance to play, especially as most of us take sport for granted. I enjoy arranging all the events and then seeing all the hard work culminate into raising money and awareness for Right to Play.
What do you hope to achieve as an Ambassador?
I hope to achieve a university-wide awareness for the charity, leading to other students thinking about raising money for Right to Play themselves. I'm also driven to raising the most amount of money I can, as this is a vital part of the ambassadorship, and to have fun doing it!
What was the highlight of One World Week for you?
The sports quiz at the end of the week. It was the final day of all the hard work that everyone had put in and it was a great end to a good week. It showed how much sport meant to people at Warwick and how much fun you can have by simply getting students together and hosting a quiz.
